Suggestion: Move Parts of Viewer Configuration into METS file

Description

Think about adding am amdSection with tecMD data into mets.xml to configure the viewer.
(maybe another METS-Element is more suitable)

Candidates are:

  • base URLs to tiles,

  • Metadata in XHTML? which will be displayed in the viewer (saves from calling an extra MetadataServlet)

  • ...

There might be properties which should stay in the Javascript intialisation

  • URL to METS file

  • Start image -> can be used for fast startup of the viewer (before parsing the mets file)

In Rostock we use the amd section to provide additional data, look at:
http://rosdok.uni-rostock.de/file/rosdok_document_0000009506/rosdok_derivate_0000034039/ppn830124268.repos.mets.xml

The DFG-Viewer is also configured this way, example file:
http://rosdok.uni-rostock.de/file/rosdok_document_0000009506/rosdok_derivate_0000034038/ppn830124268.dv.mets.xml

Another benefit: we could provide an XML Schema to validate the configuration.
